We stand here in Solidarity with thousands of people around the world against Corporate Corruption and Greed. On September 17th New York answered a call from the Vancouver based organization Adbusters. Adbusters Called out to the people of New York to flood Wall St. and set up peaceful camps, kitchens, and began occupying public space. They initially called for 20,000 people but received much fewer. In the first weeks people started coming and answering the call to Wall St. They heard the message that It wasn’t ok for the vast Majority of people in the world to be struggling to get by when there were people who hoarded wealth. After over 700 people were arrested on the Brooklyn bridge people came in droves. Cites across the United States started Occupying, and since October 15th the world has joined the occupation movement.
We in Nanaimo are standing in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the globe. We are lending our voices to a cause that calls for equality and fairness among all of humanity. We are demanding that needs of humanity do not conflict with the needs of the natural environment. We believe that poverty and poor health can be abolished. We believe a better world is possible.
We will stand with the rest of the world, we will see this through till the end.
We are accepting Donations for community Benefit organizations in town. We encourage you bring Food, Books, Clothing, and Shoes to Donate
Please come and stand with us.Founded2011-10-15

In order to promote the participation of people from different social mobilization and a concerted movement, occupy Montreal (Movement of 15 October) says the following commitments are our foundation for dialogue and action.
We initially mobilized by expressing our outrage through movement Occupy, locally, Montreal deal 'because:
mechanisms and current economic principles undermine the dignity of persons and causing growing injustices;
research blind benefit the environment degrades at a rate that threatens the life,
freedom of thought and democratic life of the '99% 'of the people are threatened by the influence of '1%'.
The objective of commitments
We now want to go further by adopting individual commitments having a collective impact. By agreeing to these values, we commit to change at the same time as we change the world, because the two go hand in hand.
"In order to participate in collective changes now underway, is personally voluntarily and that I pledge to do my best for:
HUMANITY : Developing the link that unites me with others and seek value in human relations rather than goods; ENVIRONMENT : Respect living beings, their habitats and consume responsibly; KNOWLEDGE : Me educate and encourage the exchange knowledge; LIABILITY : Cultivating a spirit of conciliation in my relationships and communications with others; JUSTICE : To speak and act out against the injustices; INCLUSION : Me open to the diversity of beings and respect differences; NONVIOLENCE : Defending my values with dignity without falling into the trap of oppression; TRANSPARENCY : Being honest and not accept the lies and corruption; HEALTH : Take care of me; EMPATHY : Recognize the feelings of others and reflect; HUMILITY : Recognize that I can be wrong. "
It is the involvement of people who will make a difference
By adopting these behaviors, we want to help change that will bring a more just society. To stop the actions of a minority of people who keep control of key resources of our planet, it is necessary to have a massive participation of people in a democratic mobilization. Because every bit counts!

We stand in Solidarity with the thousands worldwide.
In a world where over 50% of the worlds population lives on less than 2 dollars a day, and where less than 1% of the worlds population owns the rights and access to over 90% of the worlds resources, while degrading the environmental integrity of our planet to the point of not withstanding life within a hundred years.... One thing is for sure - Something has to happen, and we're staying here to tell everyone that.
Leaderless , Non-Violent , Against corporate greed. Direct horizontal democracy put into practice. Help us call for a separation of corporation and state. We are here to educate the public where the mainstream has failed to report and present information on issues we all face that target the root causes of our financial crisis, economic stability, social atmosphere and general quality of life.
This page was created for citizens gathering on October 15th 2011 in Nelson BC to join and in support of world-wide protests against corporate greed and for a sustainable future with a healthy environment.
Occupy Nelson became a hugely successful event on October 15th in Nelson , which saw close to a 1000 people in the streets and the public square , this in a town of close to 10,000 people. An amazing turnout. There were speakers , open-mic , entertainers , dancing , food , movies and an uplifting march/parade that would rival any in Nelson history.
After the world-wide day of solidarity protest on Saturday October 15th , a group of activists took the torch from the original organizers and began a true occupation of the Government Building of Nelson , which also happens to be city hall.
The Occupation is on-going as we speak, and looking to further cooperation and diplomacy with the Mayor, City Council and community on how we can go about creating change in our community. The act of staying and occupying the space stands to act as a reminder that we cant just go "back to normal" or back to "business as usual" for this is a group that has taken the time to see just how little time we have left before things get much worse for everyone. We have to Be The Change NOW.Founded2011-10-15

Occupy Kingston is an Solidarity Federation & Network (SolFed). based in the occupied traditional Mississaugas First Nation site called Katarokw currently known as Kingston, Ontario. calling on bodies to help us protest corporate injustice, loss of personal freedom, and abuse of our community caused by capitalism, religion and fascism. Occupy is happening all over the world. We are a connection to resources of information. We are committed to an inclusive, safe and welcoming space, to addressing issues of oppression and discrimination, and to creating an environment where all the community can be heard and can meaningfully participate. We are also committed to safeguarding our collective well-being – including safety from interpersonal violence and any potential police violence. We agree with most of the Action Points put forward by the Occupy Toronto General Assembly.
The trademark encampment tactic of Occupy, has been a resounding success in its goals. It has united people and created constructive dialogue that did not exists before. It has assisted people in the first steps of breaking out of the corporate conditioned individual consumerist paradigm. Occupy Kingston was one of the last Occupy encampments to be evicted, lasting until December 6th, 2011.
Since October 15th 2011, we have commenced many projects and actions for Kingston, such as awareness on prisons and military industrial complex in collaboration with EPIC, we have founded the Open Source Action Centre, have been given responsibility of duties at Food Not Bombs Kingston, and have created Occupy Gardens Kingston, which focuses on food and water security. Occupy Hamilton stands in solidarity with the Occupy movement that began in New York City on September 17 2011, inspired by the Arab Spring and other peaceful protests.
We seek to call for greater morality, responsibility and accountability into our corporate, economic and governmental systems which focus far too exclusively on profit at the expense of the people, the flora and the fauna.
Historically, our society has placed profit above universal human rights as well as the well being and sustainability of the earth we live on and all lifeforms that inhabit it.
We believe that no one human being should be placed above another. We are all equal and need to be treated as such.
We as the 99 percent believe that major entities in the private sector have too much influence over our governments and our legislature. We seek to eliminate corporate person hood and their influence over government regulation and our politics.
We believe that there is too much destruction and corruption within these corporations, our economic systems and within our government, on a local, regional, national and global scale.
When the corporate and government record of abuses rival anything we can imagine, it is time to stand up and say, "Enough!" This is what we are doing.
We believe that all people are entitled to express their concerns on issues that affect humanity as a whole and to come up with solutions to fix the problems that our government has failed to address and correct.
The media seems to be focused on a singular demand. To this, we respond that there are multiple issues that need to be addressed and corrected and that they cannot be summed up in one singular demand. We believe that the people should and will, collectively, come together and make these demands.
We strive to build a world that is kinder, more compassionate, fair, responsible and above all, accountable.
We are proud to be a part of this organic work in progress.
"Mindful of significant critiques of the word "occupy", we recognize that this is appropriated indigenous land, and therefore already "occupied". We respect the rights of & stand in solidarity with the indigenous people of this land, striving to struggle with open minds & mutual respect for a more just world."
