We were evicted from our encampment in April 2012. We now operate out of an office at the Carl Braden Memorial Center (a local activism landmark) and continue to hold General Assembly, workgroup meetings, and other events. Consensus building has been generally suspended due to decreased participation, but our numbers are beginning to increase again and our processes are subject to revision.
Make Arlington a vital part of Greater Boston’s growing Occupy movement.
If you’re interested in issues, such as, countering the impact of corporate greed, stopping the sellout of our democracy, finding solutions to disappearing jobs, making education and housing affordable… we want to hear your voice.
Bring your Ideas for Change. This is the place for us to join with our neighbors to take action!

Occupy Springfield is an open group committed to non-violent resistance. We envision a brighter future and work together cooperatively to bring about positive change. We work through direct democracy and consensus processing as we strive to make our meetings welcoming to all, with a special emphasis on new attendees who wish to learn more about our group and the movement. Let us inspire one another; let us inspire our community.
We have come together as a community because we agree about one fact; financial inequality and rampant greed are affecting and threatening every aspect of our lives including:
• Lack of representation of the people’s will in all levels of government- local, state, and federal.
• Deterioration of our constitutional and civil rights
• Student loan burden
• Lack of jobs
• Healthcare disparities
• Financial discrimination.
• Home foreclosures and farmland takeover
• Pollution and harmful products (a form of consumer fraud)
• Lack of bank regulation
• Unfair trade agreements
A Community focused on Local, National and International Environmental, Social Justice and Economic Issues. The Group is committed to take non-violent direct action by means of reeducation, media, petitions, protest and civil disobedience for the betterment of all Creation.
